Acquisition leverages industry consolidation

Huntington Beach, CA, January 1, 2005 - SurfCity Networks, a customer service leader in Broadband Internet Access, announced its acquisition of Press-Enterprise's broadband and web hosting customers, an inland empire news publication. SurfCity Networks brings a heritage of strong, responsive customer service and one of the fastest nationwide networks available with over 100,000 miles of fiber optic cable to Wisetec customers.

David Saylor, SurfCity Networks CEO stated, "Press-Enterprise needs to stay focused on its mission to deliver news. Broadband internet access and web hosting does not help further with that mission. With industry consolidation it is difficult for the smaller players to maintain profitability in a tightening market."

The company will incorporate the former Press-Enterprise customer circuits into its Huntington Beach, CA and Irvine, CA facilities.
